Wyden and Warren probe FHFA chief over $65,000 donation to Trump-linked entity

Senate Democrats Ron Wyden and Elizabeth Warren are raising concerns about a 2023 donation tied to Federal Housing and Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte and a nonprofit he previously led.

In a letter sent this week, the lawmakers questioned a $65,000 payment from Team Pulte Inc. to an entity identified as One World Love LLC, which the nonprofit’s IRS filing described as a charity supporting underserved communities. However, according to recent reporting cited by the senators, no such nonprofit appears to exist. Instead, One World Love LLC is reported to have been a corporate entity formed by an associate of the Binnall Law Group, a firm that represented Donald Trump following the January 6th insurrection. The entity was reportedly dissolved in 2023, the same year the donation was made.

Wyden and Warren said the discrepancies in Team Pulte Inc.’s 2023 tax filing raise “serious concerns” that charitable funds may have been improperly directed, potentially benefiting Trump’s legal efforts. Their letter requests extensive documentation, including internal communications, decision-making records and an explanation for apparent inaccuracies in the filing, such as listing One World Love LLC as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, providing an unverified employer identification number and citing an address that does not appear to correspond to the entity.

The senators also asked for clarification on any connections between Team Pulte Inc. and the Binnall Law Group, noting that the firm received millions of dollars in legal fees from Trump-affiliated political committees during the same period.
